What is TMS?
TMS stands for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. It is a non-invasive neurostimulation technique that involves the use of magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain. TMS is used in both clinical and research settings to study and treat a variety of neurological and psychiatric disorders, such as depression, anxiety, and chronic pain.TMS treatment is approved by the FDA.
It's normal to feel anxious from time to time, especially if your life is stressful. However, excessive, ongoing anxiety and worry that are difficult to control and interfere with day-to-day activities may be a sign of generalized anxiety disorder.
Depression is a mental health disorder where a person experiences persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and disinterest in activities they normally enjoy. Symptoms may include fatigue, changes in sleep or appetite, difficulty concentrating, and suicidal thoughts.
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) features a pattern of unreasonable thoughts and fears (obsessions) that lead you to do repetitive behaviors (compulsions). These obsessions and compulsions interfere with daily activities and cause significant distress.
